Morpheus have recently completed the interior design of a three bedroom apartment within Riverwalk – one of London’s finest riverfront residences. The building is a unique architectural masterpiece of smooth curves and glass fronted balconies overlooking the River Thames.
This view formed the inspiration behind the interior design. Pattern, textures, colour and form were drawn from details found in the riverscape and adjacent banks below. The palette’s inspiration is a blend of nature juxtaposed against the angular forms of London’s architecture; colour verses monochrome, textures verses smooth. This serves to create a memorable space featuring complex and intriguing contrasts.
Signature furniture pieces have been designed especially for the apartment including the large curved eight seater sofa. This piece is carefully tailored to simultaneously fit the space perfectly whilst zoning the room for different uses.
It sits atop a bespoke rug that clearly delineates the living area from the dining area, ensuring each zone feels enclosed whilst maintaining the light and airy feel that open-plan living creates. As well as creating a unique design theme, it also ensures a perfect balance of proportion.
The colourful palette features a mixture of rich greens, velvety blues, calming taupes and warm reds, set amongst light coloured timber, majestic bronzes and a range of light coloured marbles. Grass texture wallpapers cover the walls, adding warmth and depth to the design vernacular. Finally the installation is complemented with a collection of art that is characterised by natural organic forms, mimicking the movement and flow of the river below.
